I have met several who were/ are excellent scientists, researchers, learners, teachers and very generous human beings.

The scientific contributions from hard-working scientists and engineers have allowed you to post such an ignorant statement on the internet. ----what a shame!!!

Maybe you should study more Buddhism and more science.

The Buddha himself has shown to be the great scientist and teacher of all mankind. He had done several experiments and failed, but never quit, eventually he had succeeded with his life-long, truth-seeking research. Then he spent another 45 years teaching the best scientific knowledge of all, called The Dharma.

Western scientific research and works might focus mainly on material world. The Dharma focuses on researching inside human's heart and mind.
